Piazza San Carlo

Piazza San Carlo, known as "il salotto di Torino" (Turin's salon, or drawing room), is one of Europe's largest public squares. On the south side are the twin 17th-century churches of Santa Cristina and San Carlo Borromeo.

bella Pietro, mi piace il colore del cielo che si riflette sulle pietre della piazza!

Dina
Yes, so big--and beautiful too.

Gabry
Direi proprio che l'affermazione di "salotto buono di Torino" è azzeccatissima, è veramente una gran bella piazza.

Un saluto Pietro e buon week-end!

A very historical looking plaza. Love the cobbles. I wonder what events take place here. Nicely captured, Pietro! The photo does give the feeling of expanse.

Hope you have a great start to your week!

Many thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!

Oh I love to see the many piazzas of Europe, especially Italy. They are a wonderful place to see and be seen.

Have a lovely November.

Il salotto is absolutely appropriate for this magnificant square. No, sadly the Gold Coast does not have a place like this. We are still young and "rich" my seven year old grandson sang for me the anthem; instead of young and free!

Hi Pietro! Back to tell you that, after four posts, Blogtrotter Two is leaving Algiers 2009... Enjoy and have a great week ahead!

These are wonderful photos Pietro. The square is really large. The churches and other buildings of wonderful architectural style with the equestrian statue in the centre make this square so attractive and impressive.

Hi Pietro!
I wanna fly to Italy.
If I could live there, I would never be bored!
what a wonderful Piazza!
by the way I like self-service restaurants very much. it's inexpensive and easy to eat everything. when I went to Firenze, I went to a self-service restaurant. we were able to have very good pasta. it was much better than other restaurants!
we enjoyed eat pasta also salad!
