Bella la tua immagine Pietro di questa statua equestre dove la neve che ammanta tutto ruba la scena all'oggetto della foto stessa.

Un saluto e buona giornata!

Impressive! The snow is a nice touch :)

great shot. the backdrop building makes it look a bit like a painting.

La neige lui va bien, très stylisé par cette neige, qui souligne les courbes. Le bâtiment en arrière plan renforce toute la beauté de cette photo. Les teintes et la lumière sont toutes en harmonie.

Pietro: What a neat piece of art, made in 1838 is amazing in itself. I base time on American history and that was before our Civil War. The statue has passed the test of time.

What a perfect picture. I like everything in the photo from the sculpture, decorated with snow, to the building in the background.

the background looks like an impressive building.

Such terrific movement is caught in the sculpture. It has a marvelous background in that mellow yellow building which is a work of architectural art in its own right.
Hope you're having a wonderful week Pietro!

That is a really wonderful image!

Elegant. Beautiful.

The monument is grand, as is the palazzo behind it, but most of all I love the colours and the snow on the horse. As if the snowflakes wanted to give it all a more dynamic silhouette. Enjoyed it lots! :-)

It's a fine and elegant statue. But then, also the back building is.
And with snow and the angle you framed it, it almost seems horse and rider are running!

The Blonde Duck
I'm so glad you like the pet story. :)

Ciao Pietro buon week-end... un abbraccio!

Beautiful snow-clad statue, and I've been learning more about Italian history as a result. When I googled it I found that there is a living descendant of the same name.

Bellissima l'immagine Pietro...
la prima volta che vidi quel cavallo mi venne voglia di abbracciarlo:-), poi con quel sottile velo di neve è incantevole, grazie.
Buona serata:-)

It is beautiful the way you caught this photo Pietro. The statue is so beautiful...while looking at it I have such a feeling that the horse will move any minute. I also like the building in the background. All the details make this photo really very attractive and beautiful.
Have a wonderful weekend!

The pic looks so real life ! The horse appears to be in motion and one can see the sword actually being withdrawn from its sheath ! Splendid stuff - full credit to you for this captivating pic.

Merhaba Pietro,
What a fine art of good taste in showing the Duke's victories with a Bronze Horse.

All of my best wishes for a nice weekend~

The Piazza San Carlo with its baroque architecture and the twin churches of San Carlo and Santa Cristina are a good point of view with the statue of the Duke Emanuele Filiberto in the center of the square. A symbol of the city. I heard to say that it was there, in one of the coffees of the Piazza San Carlo that drink known as vermouth, or vermute, was invented.

Bom fim de semana! Beijus,

Those were the good old days, when men had a gallant steed and a spear. ;)

What passes for 'sculpture' today is a sad contrast to the grace and beauty of the sculpture of the time when this was made.

The snow makes a whole difference!!
